Intertwined by Gena Showalter

Released: September 1, 2009
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Pages: 440
Series: Intertwined #1
Rating: 5 stars
Like most teens, Aden Stone has friends

They just happen to be four human souls living inside him. One can time travel; one can raise the dead; one can possess other bodies; one can foretell the future - and has even predicted his death. Everyone thinks he's crazy, which is why he's sent to a halfway house for wayward teens. But he doesn't mind. For months he's been having visions of a beautiful girl entering his life - a girl who will either save him or destroy him. And even though he's half in love with her before she ever arrives, he's unprepared for the centuries old secrets she brings with her.

Together, they'll be forced to enter a dark underworld of intrigue and danger...but not everyone will come out alive.

I really enjoyed this book. It had everything a paranormal fan would want: vampires, werewolves, fairies, goblins, demons, and souls. It was just my kind of book.

I have read Gena's adult books and loved them, so I knew what her writing style was like. It didn't take me long to get hooked. There was a lot happening in the book, and things went farther than just Aden and the girl from his vision. I loved that and I also love how Gena throws so many twists and turns that you can't figure out what's going to happen next. There were a couple of things that I figured out, but the majority of the time I was guessing and then re-guessing.

The characters were very well developed, even the souls in Aden's head. I have to give Aden a thumbs up for being able to handle four different people talking inside his head continually. If it were me, I would probably go crazy. Mary Ann was a little irritating in the beginning, but by the middle of the book, she started to grow on me. And Tucker...I really didn't like him; he was such a mean bully.

This book was fantastic and I can't wait until the sequel comes out. I just have to know what happens. If you haven't read this, then you should.
