For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch came along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment.
But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure who to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.
The description on the back of the book had me thinking that there would be more mystery and secrets then there really was. Also, I figured that because of the forbidden love tagline, there would mostly be scenes of just Patch and Nora, but there wasn’t. That’s one of the things, I think, that bugged me the most. I would have liked to see more interaction between the two. Another thing that was sort of frustrating was that Nora didn’t figure out who the fallen angel was until close to the end of the book. It isn’t that hard to figure out.
This was an easy read and I pretty much zoomed right through it. Once Nora finally figured out what was going on and the good stuff started happening, there were some twists and turns that I wasn’t expecting.
Overall, this was a great debut and because I loved the end, I can’t wait to read the sequel, Crescendo, when it’s released next year in October.

This wasnt what I expected either, but I still really enjoyed reading it. I loved the cover and the whole 'fallen angel' deal. I cannot wait to for Crescendo. A whole year! AH! Great review!

I'm with Aimee - hype for books will be the death of us all.
I've heard so many raving reviews of this book that I am now sort-of afraid to read it for fear I will end up being disappointed.
Thanks for the honest review! It's always nice to hear from someone who only felt "meh" about a book.
