Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink

Released: August 1, 2009
Pages: 343
Series: Prophecy of the Sisters #1
Rating: 5 stars

An ancient prophecy divides two sisters-

One good...One evil...Who will prevail?

Twin sisters Lia and Alice Milthorpe have just become orphans. They have also become enemies. As they discover their roles in a prophecy that has turned generations of sisters against each other, the girls find themselves entangled in a mystery that involves a tattoo-like mark, their parents' deaths, a boy, a book, and a lifetime of secrets.

Lia and Alice don't know whom they can trust.

They just know they can't trust each other.

This is one of those books that will blow you away! It was amazing!

Michelle Zink’s writing style was brilliant. Everything flowed so smoothly, grabbing my attention from the very first page (literally!) and not letting go. It seemed there was always some sort of surprise, whether big or small, waiting around every corner. I love books like this because it keeps me on the edge of my seat. Also, I must say that being set in the 1800’s did the book wonders – made it more dark and eerie feeling.

I found the character’s personalities to be quite believable. My favorite character is Lia. She is such a strong and determined person. Throughout the book, she had problems thrown at her from left and right, but she didn’t give up. I think that’s what I loved most about her. Now, Alice, on the other hand, I still don’t know what to think about her. She seemed so cold and very secretive. You just didn’t know what she was going to do next. But then there were times where I could catch glimpses of the young, carefree Alice. I can’t wait to see how all the characters continue to grow.

Michelle Zink has written such a captivating and amazing debut novel. I for one, can’t wait until the next installment because I need more!! Prophecy of the Sisters is a fantastic start to what I think will be an exciting trilogy.

If you haven’t already read this then you need to do so! You won’t be disappointed.
