Lauren Myracle's novel Shine was nominated as a National Book Award nominee.Then she wasn't. Then she was. Wednesday, Myracle withdrew her name from the finalists for the 2011 National Book Awards for Young People's Literature. The National Book Foundation claimed Shine became a finalist by mistake.

Dutton Children's Books acquired rights to two new novels, Just One Day and Just One Year, by Gayle Forman, author of If I Stay and Where She Went. "Forman asks two questions in these companion books: the first probes whether two people can fall in love in a single day, and the second asks whether someone can become a new person over the course of a single year" (publishersweekly.com). Just One Day scheduled for spring 2013, and Just One Year is scheduled for spring 2014.
